What have you read, listened to seen that you liked lately? I just finished The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junior Diaz. It's a really exciting, funny book about Dominican culture and Americanization and it has made me think about how heritage shapes a person. Plus, it is intermixed with Spanish phrases and has reminded me how much I love Spanish and need to keep up with it!

Where have you traveled to lately that you like? I just spent a month in Colorado (Thanksgiving through Christmas pretty much) for this year, but last year I got to travel to Japan for Junior World Champs and Korea for World Champs. It was my first trip to Asia and my favorite part was definitely seeing snow monkeys.

Anything that not many people know about you that you would like to share? This fall I became an Earth Aid Fellow (Earth Aid is a new company that helps household reduce their carbon footprint and save money on their energy bill plus it rewards them for their saving). I went canvassing door to door to get families to join earthaid.net and businesses to offer discounts to participating families. I learned how hard it was to sell people on any new ideas even if the service is free.

Encouraging words for beginners? Stick through the first couple sore bum days and then you'll get to see the fun!
