What snowboard related business activites are you involved in? None yet.
Where did you grow up? Seabrooke, NH
Btw, you pronounce Lago - like "LEGGO my Eggo."
Live now? Still Seabrooke, NH, but I'm moving to Reno where I'll live with my buddy Mason Aguirre.
Fave places to ride? Mammoth Mountain, CA, has the best terrain park - halfpipe, jumps. I've got friends there as well.Stoneham, Quebec - Canada is fun 'cuz I get to ride with my whole family. Waterville Valley, New Hampshire is my home mountain - "Best resort in the East." I like Loon Mountain, NH, too.
Do you warm up each day before you ride? If so, what do you do to warm up? Yes I do warm up every day but not too much, just a little bit
of stretching in the morning.
How keep in shape in season? How keep in shape for snowboarding out of season? Snowboarding.
Haven't been doing too much off the hill - going to the gym working on core strength, doing some surfing. I like the beach.
This summer I spent 2 weeks at Mt. Hood. I was also at Snowpark, New Zealand this summer.
Fave riding buddies? Mason Aguirre, Jack Mitrani (Luke's older bro), Kevin Pearce out of VT - Stratton Mountain. school.
Did you go to Stratton Mountain School?
No, I'm getting home schooled now when there' s time.
Who do you admire in snowboarding or outside and why? Danny Kass - who has one of the best styles. All my teammates on Flow.
Outside of the industry, my dad and grandfather.
Do you ever get bummed out about your riding, and why? Yeah. Pretty much all the time. I'm hard on myself. If I'm at a contest and I don't do well, or if I fall doing a trick I know I get pretty irritated and bummed out.
How do you fix it? I try to redeem myself the next day riding.
Do you use visualization, and if so, how? Yeah that's a big part. For sure. If I haven't ridden in a while, I'll watch a couple videos - Mack Dawg - gets me excited to ride again, gets my mind working. I go through my run in my mind before I drop in.
My Favorite events: Van''s Cup, US Open, SuperPark.
I compete in the Halfpipe, Slopestyle, free riding. I like them all equally well. I do everything but race.
Did you ever race?
I raced in the Mountain Dew Vertical Challenge giant slalom - I won the Nationals in Colorado one year, back when I was younger. Another year I got a big bronze trophy in the Vertical Challenge. I did USASA . They have divisions, East Coast, etc. I did the Green Mountain series. Lane Knaack, Ross Powers, Kelly Clark, Danny Kass, all came out of there too.
What safety equipt. do you wear, use for snowboarding? Just a helmet.
If you're pro, when did you decide to go pro and what happened to get you there? It just happened. I just started getting a little travel budget from Billabong. They started taking me on some trips. Then Flow took me under their wing. I was sponsored by Rossignol before Flow. It was a hard decision at first whether to go with Flow. I was a little skeptical about Flow's different type of binding, but I tried it for a week at Mt. Hood and fell in love with it. We've been together happily ever after for 3 seasons now.
What have you read, listened to seen that you liked lately? I just saw Wedding Crashers. And the Legend of Ron Burgundy - Anchor Man.
I just finished the fiction book "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown - about an underground cult that puts a bomb in the Vatican.
I like hip hop, rap, and rock.
I love the Datsuns. They're English - a small upcoming band. I saw them live in England.
I like Snoop Dogg.
Where have you traveled to lately that you like? I really liked Japan last winter. Everything was so different. One of the weirdest places I've been to, in a good way. People there work so much harder than the average worker in the States. Customer service is like 100% better than in States. Sushi -everything's fish. I ate everything. I liked it. The people are different. I had lots of young female fans. I still correspond online with some of them.
I liked Amsterdam too - I checked out the Red Light district - pretty unique. I think it's self-explanatory.
Any guilty pleasures? I got my ears pierced last month. Always wanted to do it, my girlfriend approved.
What about your lip tattoo?
Got it last summer at Mt. Hood when the tattoo artist came by the Flow house. Mutty's friend Mike. Spur of the moment. Glad I did it. I'll probably get more. On my back, either a cross, or a flag representing my heritage - which is half French Canadian, and Albanian, and English. Maybe a flag combining the flags of all 3 of those cultures.
Anything that not many people know about you that you would like to share? I like to hunt and fish a lot. That's my true main passion. I started hunting when I was 10. Deer and birds. Bow and arrow, and shotgun. Bass fishing, trout fishing.
Encouraging words for beginners? Practice makes perfect.
Long term plans?
I'm going by the edge of my seat - I'll let snowboarding take me along for the ride. I plan to invest my money wisely. Hopefully snowboarding can give me a job in the industry in the future.
What will you be doing this winter?
I'm competing in 5 Grand Prix in order to qualify for the Olympics half pipe competition.
